Story Times
Baby Bookworms - Infants
This lapsit story time consists of music, stories and rhymes especially chosen to build the bond between you and your baby and is suited for infants and pre-walkers. Join us in the Youth Services Program Room each Thursday morning at 9:30 am.
Baby Bookworms - Toddlers
This story time is for mobile little ones under three years of age and consists of stories, music, and rhymes. Join us in the Youth Services Program Room each Thursday morning at 10:30 am.
Pre-School Story Time
Inspire your future reader and join us for exciting stories, rhymes, music and activities selected just for children ages 3 - 5 years. Sessions will be held in the Youth Services Program Room on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:30 am.
Other Great Programs
LEGO Club at the Library
If you love to create and use your imagination, this is the club for you! We provide the LEGOs and the club meets once per month in the Youth Services Program Room. There are separate sessions for ages 6-8 and 9-12. Space is limited, so registration is required.
MakerSpace with Ms. Reiko
A monthly program for grades 6-8 providing a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high-tech to no-tech tools. Registration is required.
R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs)
This program encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener and a furry friend that will lie next to them an enjoy the story. This is a great way to promote a positive reading experience. Over time your child’s reading ability and confidence can improve, which will make them enjoy reading even more. Sessions are held in the Youth Services Program Room and last 20 minutes each. Sign-up is required. Stop by Youth Services or call 850-279-6436 ext. 1514 to reserve a session. This program is recommended for ages 3-12, and parents must accompany their children.
Programs Currently on Hiatus:
After School Specials
This program is for children in first grade and up, and is held the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Youth Services Program Room from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Each session will include book discussion, activities and refreshments. Registration is required each month. Not active during summer months.
Code Club
Our Code Club meets in six-week sessions on Thursdays from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The club is open to grades 5 through 8 and registration is required. Each meeting of Code Club will have an exercise for participants to complete aimed at helping them to learn to create games with Scratch and Python coding. We recommend that participants attend all meetings, as future meetings will build on previously-covered concepts. Club size is limited to 14 students, as we have a limited number of laptops for participants to use.
Dungeons & Dragons Club
The Niceville Gamers Guild proudly presents this monthly club designed to teach kids the game of Dungeons & Dragons. This club is for ages 8-14, and all experience levels are welcome. All materials will be provided. Your child just needs to show up ready to learn and have fun! The club will meet one Saturday per month, from 10 am until 1 pm in the Youth Services Program Room. Registration is required each month.
Family Movie Night
Join us for a movie and popcorn the last Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Youth Services Program Room. Each movie will be rated G or PG. No registration is required.
