Florida City Week, taking place October 20th – October 26th, is an annual celebration that highlights the vibrant communities, rich history, and unique contributions of cities across our state. This special week showcases the people, places, and programs that make our cities thrive, while providing opportunities for residents and visitors to connect, learn, and participate in local events.
From educational activities and community gatherings to cultural showcases and city tours, Florida Cities Week offers something for everyone. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to your city, this is the perfect time to explore what makes our communities unique, celebrate local achievements, and get involved in shaping the future of your city.

2025 Schedule
Monday, October 20 – Employee Highlight Celebrate the people who keep our city running! We’ll feature six of our dedicated employees on our social media platforms throughout the day.
Tuesday, October 21 – Library Story Time Join us at the Niceville Library at 10:30 am for a special reading of The City That Talks! Children will also receive a fun activity and coloring book to accompany the story.
Wednesday, October 22 – City Department Passport Explore City departments with a fun twist! Visit highlighted locations on our City Complex map, collect stamps on your city passport, and redeem five or more stamps for a special goodie bag. You can download the Map and Passport to start at any highlighted department or stop by City Hall to have it printed for you. Morning Session: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Thursday, October 23 – Niceville History Night & Fall Festival Come to the annual Fall Festival at Niceville Children’s Park at 5pm! Don’t miss a special walk through Niceville’s history at the Community Center with local historian Elisa Mitchiner, from 5 - 7pm.
Friday, October 24 – History & Heron Hunt Use the maps below to locate 5 historical markers and 3 heron locations throughout the City of Niceville. The first three participants to take photos with each historical marker and share them in person or on social media (tagging the City) will be recognized. Heron locations are just for fun and exploration!

Saturday, October 25 – City Clean-Up Roll up your sleeves for a city-wide cleanup in partnership with Keep Okaloosa Beautiful! Meet at City Hall; supplies will be provided. Event starts at 8:00 AM.
Sunday, October 26 – Community Prayer for the City Local churches are invited to join in prayer for the City of Niceville, asking for blessings, unity, and continued growth for our community.
