Children's Book Week May 7 - 13
Celebrate your favorite books and authors with us this week! We have activities, story times, crafts, movies and give-aways all week long in celebration of great reading! Share a good book with a friend!

Family Movie Hour
Enjoy special family time at the library Saturday, May 12th, at 10:30 a.m. with Kevin Henkes books in action! "Weekend with Wendell", "Chrysanthemum" and "Owen" will be shown in Youth Services program room. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be served and take home activities available. Show time is approx. 60 minutes.

Preschool (Ages 3-5) Story Time
Inspire your future reader at our preschool story time. Join us for exciting stories selected just for children ages 3-5 years old. Programs will be held in Youth Services program room on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

American Girls History Mystery Book Club
This club for girls in 2nd-6th grade will meet the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until noon in the YS program room. Registration is required as space is limited. Girls must sign up in YS for each meeting, check out the book or purchase your own copy, and finish the book before the meeting date. We will meet May 19th to discuss "Lady Margaret's Ghost: A Felicity Mystery" by Elizabeth McDavid Jones, from 10:00-12:00. Girls MUST be registered to attend so please call 279-4863 x1514 to reserve a seat.

Baby Bookworms
This lapsit program consists of music, stories and rhymes especially chosen to build the bond between you and your child. Program is suited for children from birth to age 3. Please meet in YS program room on 2nd & 4th Fridays each month.
Prewalkers -9:30, Walkers up to age three-10:30. This month our program will be held May 11th only.

We're Looking For A Few Good Collections
Rocks, dolls, marbles, cars, toys of all kinds-Children love to collect many things. We have the perfect spot to display most collections. If you would like to show your kid friendly collection for all to enjoy, please contact Ms. Martha in Youth Services to schedule a time to display. Please call 279-4863 x1514 or stop in YS.

After School Program
"Catch the Magic School Bus" each month in Youth Services! Children ages 6-12 years old meet the second Tuesday of each month from 4:15-5:30 in the program room. Every month the program will focus on a different Magic School Bus book and will include fun facts, hands-on activities, cool science and of course a Ms. Frizzle mystery or two. Children are encouraged to check out related books and are always welcome to share what they've read and learned along the way. Space is limited so registration is required. We will be meeting May 8th, as Ms. Frizzle and the kids get a bugs-eye view of the plant world with "The Magic School Bus Goes to Seed". Please call 279-4863 x1514.

Scrabble Anyone? @ Niceville Library
Do you enjoy playing Scrabble? If so, here's a great opportunity to have fun, meet new people and play some Scrabble, as the small conference room at the Niceville Public Library will be set up with Scrabble boards for the adult community to play and enjoy on Wednesday, May 2 and 16 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Please keep in mind that you don't have to be an expert to participate and all skill levels are welcome. Art Exhibit @ Your Library
Original paintings and artwork by local artist, Dolores McGarvey will be on exhibit in the Library during the month of May. Dolores originally from New York attended art classes at Rutgers University and Morris County College. She attended classes taught by Betty Treharne who was the youngest recipient of the New York Time's art award. In addition she attended lessons taught by the well-known and influential watercolorist, Claude Croney.
